Associate of Ministry (A.Min.)

Two year degree program

This program is offered to those who are on track towards their Bachelor’s degree, and are interested in pursuing the practical aspect of fulfilling the necessary parameters of helps ministry or para –church ministry. This is a 60 semester hour entry level program.

Associate of Biblical Studies (A.B.S.)

Two year degree program

This program is offered to those who are on track towards their Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree, and is designed for those that have a desire for a richer and fuller understanding of the Bible.  This is a 60 semester hour entry level program.

Associate of Theology (A.Th.)

Two year degree program

This program is suggested and offered to those who have a strong desire to enter the gospel ministry.  It focuses on preparing the student for future studies in theology going on towards the Bachelor of Theology degree.  This is a 60 semester hour entry level program.

Bachelor of Ministry (B.Min.)

This is a program designed to provide the student with in-depth knowledge of full-time pastoral ministry in the local church and will prepare the graduate for work in ministry, counseling and other related fields.  The Bachelor of Ministry is a 60 semester hour program above the Associate of Ministry degree  for a total of 120 undergraduate units.

Bachelor of Biblical Studies (B.B.S.)

This is the culmination of the Associate of Biblical Studies track and is designed to enrich the lives of those that seek a deeper knowledge of the Word of God and look to graduate studies in religious education, ministry, and eventually philosophy or theology.  This degree is 120 semester hours total and is 60 semester hours of study above the A.B.S. degree.

Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.)

This program is the most prestigious undergraduate degree that Grace offers.  It is designed however, to provide the graduate with in-depth knowledge of the doctrines of the church and to prepare him/her for advanced studies in theology, ministry and  related fields.  The Bachelor of Theology degree is 60 semester hours of study above the Associate of Theology degree for a total of 120 semester hours of undergraduate study.

Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.)

Where the B.Th. is the most prestigious undergraduate degree, the Bachelor of Divinity is the most prestigious bachelors degree.  The difference is that the B.D. is a seminary degree and is considered graduate work.  It is a degree that the school promotes along with the Master of Divinity degree on towards higher graduate studies.  This degree is designed to fast-track the graduate to his or her choice of doctoral degrees.  It is a 32 semester hour graduate program.

Master of Divinity (M.Dov.)

The Master of Divinity program of study is also a fast-track to the Doctor of Theology degree.  It is followed by either the Master of Theology degree and then on to the Th.D. or to another doctoral degree and then on to Th.D.  This is a very popular degree today and is worthy of consideration.  It is a 90 semester hour program of study above an undergraduate degree in either, theology, ministry, or biblical studies or an equivalent.

Master of Ministry (M.Min.)

This is a graduate program that specializes in courses that are related to pastoral practice and church work.  The goal of this program is to increase the abilities of the pastor, the pastoral staff, and those associated with the work in ministry.  The Master of Ministry degree is 40 semester hours above the Bachelor of Divinity level.

Master of Religious Education (M.R.E.)

This graduate program is designed for those in, or seeking to serve in, an educational ministry of a church or related educational ministry.  The program is designed to maximize the student’s competency in religious educational ministry.  The Master of Religious Education degree is 40 semester hours above the Bachelor of Divinity level.

Master of Theology (Th.M.)

This is our most advance Masters program.  This graduate program is designed for students who desire to deepen their knowledge and understanding in the field of Biblical theology, and to expand their training in this field of study.  The Master of Theology degree is 32 semester hours above the Master of Divinity level.

Master of Divinity (M.Div.)

This course of study is designed for the student who aspires to be equipped for church ministry.  It focuses on the required areas of ministry which include:  practical theology, Christian education, pastoral ministry, Bible and practicums of pastoral care and counseling.  The Master of Divinity degree is a 90 semester hour program of study above the Bachelor level.  It is suggested that the preceding Bachelor degree be in theology.

Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.)

This is a highly specialized program of study created for those qualified students currently involved in pastoral care and other areas of ministry.  The program is designed to build on ministry experiences.  While challenging, the Doctor of Ministry degree is a 32 to 64 semester hour program with a prerequisite of a Master of Ministry or equivalent.

Doctor of Religious Education (D.R.E.)

This is a highly specialized program designed for those interested in teaching in the church and beyond.  Ministers of Education and those responsible for developing and implementing religious education in the local church or college will benefit from this program.  The Doctor of Religious Education degree is a 32 to 64 semester hour program with the prerequisite of  Master of Religious Education or equivalent degree.

Doctor of Theology (Th.D.)

This highly specialized degree program is designed to reflect the student’s rich ministry background and challenge the student to research and investigate a theological subject in an advanced dissertation.  The Doctor of Theology degree is a 32 to 40 semester hour program of study above the Masters of Theology degree or its equivalent.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

This is a professional degree program and is designed to reflect the student’s knowledge in the area of religion and religious literature.  It’s purpose is to challenge the candidate to greater understanding in these areas.  The Doctor of Philosophy is a 32 to 64 semester hour program above master level.
